Our church is a diverse and inter-generational community of faith. We have something for kids, teens, and adults in every stage of life from Adult Sunday School classes to camping programs for kids and teens. We are committed to praising God and serving our neighbors, which is why we value building relationships within our congregation and community.
From Sunday School classes to spiritual growth workshops and retreats, Christian Education is not only a ministry of the church, but a way of living out our faith in Jesus Christ. Check out the calendar for opportunities to learn and serve.
We have several ways to connect with others through our monthly fellowship gatherings: Sisters with Heart Women's Group, Men's Group, Children & Family Events and Outings, Co-ed Spring & Summer Softball League, Youth Group, and more! Along with Potlucks, BBQs and Picnics you are sure to enjoy a great time of fellowship with us!
With three worship services on Sunday, we have the opportunity to share the many musical gifts this congregation has to offer. The worship music at LBC at 8am features a folk blend of classic hymns and contemporary favorites. The 10:30am service at COV features both our choir and worship band. And while the evening worship music at LBC at 5pm always features special guest musicians and singers, the music ministry of COV and LBC especially emphasizes creativity in the weekly variety of praise and worship styles.
Fetty Food Pantry
For more than 20 years, Church of the Valley has provided food to our neighbors in need. In 2008, the Fetty Food Pantry became a local neighborhood partner pantry of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. With a team of volunteers, the Fetty Food Pantry feeds over a 1,000 people in the Van Nuys community each month! The pantry is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30-12noon. If you'd like to volunteer, please contact Susan Syers.
In 1999, Church of the Valley partnered with Project Mercy, an agency that "has been improving the lives of the most poor and needy in the outlying neighborhoods of Tijuana since 1991, through the basic construction of sturdy homes and community projects." Biannually, volunteers from COV and LBC build a home in ONE day for a family in need. To volunteer, talk to Rick Hall about joining us on the next Tijuana Homebuild!
